    I had the privilege of spending quality time with BObpast year. We had nice talks, dinners and laughs together. I was honored to have BOb walked me down the isle on my wedding day a year ago.i will forever cherish that memory. Bob you fly high and catch you some big fish up there. Love you forever and always. Robert Haywood, age 84, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family on Tuesday, June 4th, 2024. Born on April 18th, 1940, Robert was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, Marine, and friend.

Robert had a profound love for nature and the great outdoors. Whether it was fishing, hunting, or mushroom hunting, he found joy spending time in nature. He especially treasured the time spent sharing these activities with his grandchildren, creating memories that will be cherished forever.

A proud Marine, Robert served his country with honor and distinction. Following his service, he dedicated 36 years to his career as an engineer in the powerhouse at IVH. His commitment and expertise were hallmarks of his professional life, earning him the respect and admiration of his colleagues.

Robert’s life was marked by his love for his family, his dog (Bella), his dedication to his work, and his passion for the outdoors. He leaves behind a legacy of love, dedication, and a deep appreciation for the natural world.

Robert is survived by his wife of 34 years, Sharon. Robert’s daughters; Terri, Trisha, and Tammy; sister; Dolly; stepson; John Taylor (Shari); Sharon’s son, Bill and her son, Kyle, whom Robert loved dearly and raised as his own from age three. As well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Robert was preceded in death by his mother, Jospehine Malaska and stepfather Ora; stepson, Carl; and siblings; Marge Haywood and Jim Haywood.

Family and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Thursday, June 13th, 2024, at Tippecanoe Funeral Chapel.

A funeral service will be held at 5:00 p.m. Thursday, June 13th, 2024, at Tippecanoe Funeral Chapel, 3631 Morehouse Road, West Lafayette, Indiana. Entombment will follow.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to either the COPD Foundation or the American Kidney Fund.
