James Duane Fulks

James (Jim) Duane Fulks, 85 went to be with the Lord on January 14, 2023 at the Springs at Lafayette, IN.
He was born on February 16, 1937, to the late James G. and Florence Snyder Fulks. He attended
Jefferson H.S.. He retired from A E Staley Manufacturing after 40+ yrs. as a laboratory technician. After
retirement he owned and operated Ben Hur Tavern on 4 th Street for several years.
Jim was preceded in death by a sister Deloris Jeanne Fulks, a brother Donald E. Fulks and his beloved
daughter, Lori D. Fulks.
He is survived by his daughters, Cindy Brown (James) of Indianapolis, IN, Katrina “Tina” Kopf (Richard),
Julie Earhart (Craig) both of Lafayette, IN, and a sister Sharon Johnson of Naples, FL.
Jim was a loving grandfather to Jennifer Record, Heather Glaze, Timothy Stewart, Anthony White, Jarren
Brown, Brooke Kopf, Nickolas Kopf, Natasha Whallon, Linze Staley, Brandi Clevanger, and Gretchen
Fulks. 15 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
Jim was an outdoorsman. He loved camping, his annual fishing trips to Minnesota with his fishing
buddies and mushroom hunting. He was an avid sports fan of Purdue football and basketball,
Indianapolis Colts, the Indianapolis 500 (attended for over 40 yrs.) and NASCAR.
He was an amazing self-taught natural musician. He played guitar and sang for a time in a local country
band and was always ready to grab his guitar and share a song.
Visitation will be held at Tippecanoe funeral chapel 3631 Moorehouse Rd, West Lafayette, IN on
Thursday January 19, 2023, from 11AM – 1PM. Service will begin at 1PM. Pastor Owen Mason, Jr of
Church Alive officiating.
