Ernst Voege, 52, passed away at his home on Sunday, April 28, 2024. He was born in West Lafayette on January 6, 1972, the son of Ernst and Mary Lee Voege. Ernie, as he was affectionately known to many, found immense joy in the simple pleasures of life. He thrived in his role as a forklift driver at Maxxis Tire, where his dedication and hard work were truly admirable.
Beyond his professional life, Ernie had a true knack for hands-on work and enjoyed nothing more than immersing himself in projects, especially when it involved tearing up mud in his side-by-side, a Miller Lite in hand. Above all else, Ernie held a deep love for his family. His daughter held a special place in his heart, and he cherished every moment spent with her. He shared a loving bond with his wife, whose playful joke about the order of his affections – daughter, wife, and truck – captured the essence of his playful spirit and devotion.
Ernst is survived by his wife, Felicia Voege; daughter, Emma Voege; the sons he never had, Hunter and Andrew Strow; and in-laws, Rick and Becky Allison. Ernst was preceded in death by his parents.
Family and friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 10, 2024 at Tippecanoe Funeral Chapel: 3631 Morehouse Road, West Lafayette, Indiana. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 10, 2024, at Tippecanoe Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow.
